I held my first solo Artwave in the Summer of 2018 to show my Mandala and Zentangle art. It was great fun! I spent the Summer preparing everything: framing the mandalas, promoting the exhibition, networking with other Artwave artists and turning my house into a gallery. My daughter baked an impressive selection of large cakes including a Summer inspired lemon, elderflower and blueberry one. We served tea and cake in the garden on the first sunny day, and in the kitchen on the second day when it poured with rain.
I was delighted with how many people came to visit – just over 100 over 3 days, with the Bank holiday Monday the busiest and I was very happy to sell some of my work. On reflection Sunday was my favourite day as it was very chilled – a few people came and spent several hours trying out Zentangle while drinking tea and eating cake. I hope it’s raised awareness of the wonderful Zentangle method so people can benefit from the relaxed focus and magical results it offers.
