Printmaking

There’s something about the processes in printmaking – working into wood or lino, etching a metal plate, rolling up a Perspex sheet – a kind of mediation, where the ownership or responsibility of making a line or a mark synthesizes with the material and process to create something entirely new & often unexpected. The most successful prints for me are often the ones where something accidental happened, where I was not totally in control of the outcome.
