Drawn to Dance
Embodied drawing – a connection between being in our flesh & bones, hearts and minds, sensing the qualities of movement, the rhythmic response to music, the feelings and thoughts that arise and responding with marks on a page, or the wall or just in the air. Drawing dancers – live or on video, capturing the movement, the gestures, the physicality or tenderness of the forms, sometimes drawing from projected images. I’ve collaborated with dancers to run workshops combining dancing & drawing and plan to do more of this in the future.
